Google Goes Good Will Hunting December 4, 2006

I mentioned before that Google’s blog shows a trend of becoming more and more corporate, taking a post written by their legal jocks on the verb ‘to google’ as an example. Well, perhaps we can add ‘trust-fund-ish’ to this, which was the first word that came to mind after reading this gem, followed by ‘pearl necklace’, ’slumming’ and that Matt Damon movie. I had a long day, maybe not seeing things straight. Nope, reread it, same imagery. Must be me.

The initiative is beyond reproach of course, and probably lots of good will come out of it -but folks, reading this just made the whole thingĀ feel a little bit odd. Maybe corporate communications hacks need to be taught on how to block their interpretation of the word ’spontaneous’ when they are blogging.
